Legacy represents relationships between four women connected by blood across more than a
century; A great-grandmother, grandmother, mother and daughter. Owens was commissioned by
the daughter to create a sculpture as her own personal tribute. This sculpture suggests that the women are different, complex, supportive and spiritual. In the words of Dr. Maya Angelou, each is a child of God "trailing wisps of Glory". |
